Twenty five years ago Keilhauer started out as a small family business with a bit of furniture manufacturing know-how and a set of values that stressed respect and integrity for our people and our customers.

Keilhauer’s goal is to make products out of materials that are recycled (the more post-consumer waste the better) and with no or very few emissions. Over 20 of their products have been awarded GREENGUARD®; Internal Air Quality certification and our Simple chair earned a Silver designation from the MBDC Cradle-to-Cradle™ certification program.

Once made, their products should last for a long time, and when their useful life is over, they should be fully recyclable.  As an example of this, Keilhauer has a 10-year warranty on their Tom series of chairs and will take them back for recycling once the customers have finished with them.  

Approximately half of Keilhauer’s freight is shipped blanket wrapped allowing them to fit more into a trailer and avoid the use of cardboard in the packing process.

The values of respect and integrity remain the cornerstones of the business. Their products have been constantly updated to meet the needs of the ever-changing office environment. The facilities have been continuously upgraded and expanded to meet the increasing needs of customers. In June 2004, Keilhauer became certified under ISO 9001:2000.
